About Us

Welcome to AMTCR Pali.

ASHA MARINE TECHNICAL COLLEGE & RESEARCH (AMTCR) operates under the registered Rammurat Umrawati (RMU) Memorial Charitable Trust. The institution is approved by the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS), Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, with MTI No.: 202078. AMTCR is dedicated to preparing the youth of India for careers in the Merchant Navy, specifically through its GP Rating program, conducted under the guidelines of the DGS. Successful candidates are qualified to serve as Ratings aboard Indian or foreign ships operating worldwide.

Our Vision:-
To be a premier maritime training and research institution committed to producing globally competent, ethically grounded, and safety-conscious seafarers. AMTCR envisions empowering India's youth through world-class education, fostering innovation, and upholding international standards to contribute to a safer, cleaner, and more sustainable maritime industry.

The International Maritime Organization (IMO), based in London, has made significant contributions toward the global goals of safe shipping and clean seas. Through the development of conventions, protocols, and standards—such as those related to safety of life at sea (SOLAS), marine pollution prevention (MARPOL), and standards for certification and watchkeeping (STCW)—the IMO continues to raise the bar for maritime professionalism and safety.

Recognizing the challenges and skill demands of a modern shipping career, AMTCR is also expanding its presence with a new campus being established in Pali District, Raigad, Maharashtra, to offer comprehensive training aligned with international maritime standards.

Academic Excellence & Teaching Methodology

At Asha Marine Technical College & Research (AMTCR), Pali, Mumbai, we believe that how you teach is just as important as what you teach. Our programmes are thoughtfully designed to offer the right balance of theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical training — because the sea does not reward theory alone. It rewards preparation, competence, and the ability to think clearly and act decisively under pressure.
Our teaching methodology is built around four core principles:
Practical-First Learning — Every theoretical concept taught at AIIMT is reinforced through direct practical application. Whether it is navigation, seamanship, engine operations, or safety procedures, cadets are trained to apply their knowledge in real-world conditions from the earliest stages of their programme. Learning at AIIMT is never passive — it is active, immersive, and deeply experiential.
STCW-Aligned Curriculum — Our entire curriculum is structured in strict accordance with IMO conventions and STCW regulations, ensuring that every cadet graduates with training that is internationally recognised and immediately applicable aboard any vessel, anywhere in the world. Our course content is regularly reviewed and updated to reflect the latest developments in maritime law, technology, and industry practice.
Experienced Faculty Guidance — We employ competent, trained, and highly qualified faculty — many of whom bring direct seafaring experience to the classroom. When a faculty member explains watch-keeping procedures, navigation challenges, or engine room operations at AIIMT, they do so not from a textbook alone, but from lived experience at sea. This blend of academic rigour and professional relevance sets our teaching apart.
Discipline & Professional Formation — At AIIMT, we train cadets to think and carry themselves like seafarers from day one. Punctuality, discipline, teamwork, and a safety-first mindset are not merely values we speak about — they are habits we build, day after day, through the structure and culture of campus life. A cadet who graduates from AIIMT does not just hold a certificate — they embody the professional standards that the global maritime industry demands.
